COVID-19 SAFETY & REOPENING
COVID-19 Safety and Reopening
Due to COVID-19, we are currently not scheduling tours at the Centre Furnace Mansion or Boogersburg School.
The Centre Furnace Mansion hopes to reopen for tours by appointment mid-late summer 2021. Your patronage is valued and we look forward to welcoming visitors once again. CCHS’s plan to reopen will prioritize the safety and wellbeing of our volunteers, staff and visitors and adhere to current State and CDC guidelines with respect to masking, cleaning and social distancing protocols.
We have a small staff and team of volunteers and we need to do everything we can to ensure the safety of our staff as well as our visitors. Abiding by the protocols in place, however cumbersome, helps ensure the best outcomes for everyone who comes to the Centre Furnace Mansion.
We ask visitors, volunteers, and staff to conduct their own health assessment before entering the building. If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you wait to visit the Mansion or Boogersburg School.
Visitors, volunteers, and staff must bring their own facial masks or coverings as they will be required of everyone to wear indoors.
Face coverings are required to be worn indoors and outdoors if you are away from your home. In accordance with the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance, fully vaccinated Pennsylvanians are not required to wear a mask during certain activities.
High-contact surfaces such as door handles, railings, and restrooms are cleaned thoroughly after visitors. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the Mansion.
Programs that are typically held indoors will continue to be held virtually via Zoom. Programs can be live streamed or viewed at your convenience on our YouTube channel.
CCHS will continue to refine and adapt its protocols based on CDC health recommendations.
CCHS shall remain in compliance with all local ordinances set forth by the Council of College Township.
"College Township Council encourages community members to continue to be vigilant in their efforts to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus and to adhere to the Pennsylvania Department of Health's Order pertaining to the wearing of facemasks."
